Metallica is going old-school. The band recently announced that they will release a cassette tape version of their upcoming album, “72 Seasons,” when it comes out in April. The release is the band’s first in seven years. In addition, Metallica is starting a world tour this year to support the new album, but it won’t stop in Utah.
The band posted a picture of the tape on social media and wrote, “Looking for a reason to dust off that vintage Walkman?” The limited-edition cassette will include an eight-panel j-card with lyrics. For younger fans, a j-card is the insert cover for a cassette tape.
So…you’ll be able to get the new #Metallica album in cassette tape form. https://t.co/D3j9omFnoX

Fans pre-ordering this version will get instant MP3 downloads of “Lux Æterna” and “Screaming Suicide.” Do you still have a cassette player? Do you still use it? What’s the most outdated thing in your house?
