Official Contest Rules

Music Madness Shootout 2026

Presented by KYMV BOB FM UTAH & Wasatch Front KIA


1. Sponsor

The Music Madness Shootout 2026 (further referred to as “Contest” or “The Contest”) is sponsored by KYMV BOB FM UTAH (“Station”) and Wasatch Front KIA (collectively, “Sponsors”).


2. Eligibility

Contest is open only to legal U.S. residents residing in the state of Utah who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

Employees of Sponsors, their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising/promotion agencies, and immediate family members or those living in the same household are not eligible.

Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.


3. Contest Period

Contest begins March 27, 2026 and ends April 4, 2026. Qualifying events will take place on various dates during this period at designated Wasatch Front KIA locations, culminating in a final event on April 4, 2026.


4. How to Enter / Participate

No purchase necessary.

To enter, individuals must appear in person at a designated Contest remote broadcast location and register with Station staff.

At each qualifying event, the first fifteen (15) eligible registrants will be selected to participate.

Limit one (1) participation per person per event. Station reserves the right to disqualify any individual who attempts to enter multiple times or violates Contest rules.


5. Contest Mechanics

Participants will compete in basketball shootout rounds as follows:

Preliminary shoots:

  • Contestants will be divided into groups of 5 and provided with basketballs to be used in the contest
  • Basketballs may vary in size
  • While music is playing, contestants must continuously dribble their ball
  • When the music is stopped by Station staff, contestants will attempt a shot at the hoop
  • Shots must be taken from behind a line, approximately 10-15 ft., established by Station staff
  • Shots will be judged by Station staff
  • Contestants may not physically interfere with other contestants shots
  • Contestants who make the shot advance; others are eliminated
  • If no shots make it into the hoop, process will repeat
  • Contestants who make the shot advance; others are eliminated
  • Contestants who advance will repeat the above process
  • Process continues with eliminations until one (1) Daily Winner is determined

Final Round:

  • Contestants selected by the above process will be invited to participate in a final round shootout April 4th
  • Final round operates under preliminary shoot contest mechanics
  • Contestants will shoot with failed shots eliminating contestants until one Grand Prize Winner is determined

Conditional Rules:

In the event that there are not enough participants present at an event to execute the above mechanics, additional rules and addendums may be made on site by Station Staff or Judges. This may include a timed free throw, best-of-three, or other addendums.

 

Rules are subject to change at any time by Station staff and judges. All decisions are final and determined by Station personnel and judges.


6. Prizes

Daily Prizes

Each Daily Winner selected by the above process (5. Contest Mechanics) will receive a prize (details may vary by event) and qualify for the final round.

Daily prizes include

  • 2 Tickets to Jimmy Eat World July 22nd at Sandy Ampitheatre. Prize value approx. $130 and provided by Broadway Media

Grand Prize

On April 4, 2026, Daily Winners will compete in a final round. The Grand Prize Winner will receive one (1) of the following, at winner’s choice:

  • $500 Wasatch Wagyu beef (Approximate Retail Value: $500) provided by Wasatch Wagyu
    OR

  • FLITE 750 carbon-frame race bike (Approximate Retail Value: $2,000) provided by Broadway Media

Total prize value will not exceed $2,000.

Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash except at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

Rules are subject to change at any time by Station staff and judges. All decisions are final and determined by Station personnel and judges.


7. Odds of Winning

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible participants and the relative skill of contestants at each event.


8. Winner Notification & Claim

Winners will be determined on-site at each event and must be present to win.

Winners must provide valid government-issued identification and may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, and publicity release prior to receiving a prize.

Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of the prize.

Prizes will be supplied by either electronic transfer or pickup at Broadway Media station (50 W BROADWAY SLC SUITE #200). Prize pickups at Broadway Media must be picked up between the hours of 12:00PM – 5:00PM Tuesdays or Thursdays.


9. Publicity Release

By participating, entrants grant Sponsors the right to use their name, voice, likeness, and biographical information for promotional and advertising purposes in any media without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.


10. General Conditions

Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest in the event of technical failures, fraud, unauthorized intervention, or any other cause beyond their control that affects the integrity of the Contest.

Sponsors’ decisions are final in all matters related to the Contest.


11. Conduct & Disqualification

Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any participant who:

  • Violates these Official Rules

  • Acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner

  • Fails to follow instructions from event staff


12. Release of Liability

By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsors, participating locations, prize providers, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance/use of any prize.


13. Taxes

All federal, state, and local taxes associated with prize acceptance are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Grand prize winner must fill out and sign a 1099-MISC  and visit Broadway Media’s Office (50 W Broadway Ste 200, SLC) to pick up the prize.


14. Rules Availability

These Official Rules are available at all Contest remote locations and on the Station’s website. These rules are in addition to Broadway Media’s Contest rules hosted at BROADWAYMEDIA.COM/CONTEST_RULES


15. Governing Law

Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
