Free – Or Cheap! – Weekend Family Fun Along The Wasatch Front
So, here’s my challenge for ALL of us this weekend: get out of your comfort zone and try something new. I think my family life is a little stale and in need of shaking up, so maybe yours is, too. This is the perfect weekend to stretch a little and see how clever and competent you really are. Ready?
Friday 3.20:

4:00pm: Teen Make and Take Craft: Whitmore Library, SLC. Free.
5:00pm: Women’s Self Defense Course – Beyond Sports Taekwondo, Lindon. Tickets $45.
6:00pm: New Moon Energy Meet – Elemental Inspirations, SLC. Admission is free.
6:30pm: Family Bingo Night – Fundraiser for Meals on Wheels at the Brigham City Community Center. Tickets $5.
7:00pm: Trivia Night at The Leonardo – come match wits! Admission is free.
7:00pm: Skate-Con with the Wasatch Figure Skating Club, Weber County Ice Sheet. Tickets are $5.
7:00pm: Free Friday Family Flicks at Snowbird Ski Resort – “Back To The Future.” Free admission.
7:00pm: Jung and Dreams: a lecture from the Jung Society of Utah – Provo Library at Academy Square. Free admission.
7:00pm: Utah Grizzlies vs. Bakersfield Condors, Maverick Center WVC. Tickets $25
7:30 and 9:30pm: Natasha Leggero – Wiseguys Comedy Club, WVC. Tickets are $15.

9:00am: Beekeeping Course, UofU Continuing Education. (I know I’m not the only one who’s thought about being an urban beekeeper. And with honeybees in such a terrible decline across the country, I really want to do this. You interested?) Full course on starting out, resources, and more. Class fee $99.
9:00am: Buns Up 5K for Colon Cancer – Sugarhouse Park, SLC. Race fees are $20-25.
9:00am: Pruning Demonstration, Ogden Botanical Gardens. Admission is free.
10:00am: Think Pink 5K – Wines Park, Lehi. Race fees $25.
10:00am: Garden Planning and Design – Wasatch Community Gardens, Main Branch Library, SLC. Admission is free.
10:30am: Kestrel Presentation and Field Trip – Antelope Island State Park, learn more about these birds with the Hawkwatch Experts, free.
11:30: Sensory-Based Story Hour – for school aged children and parents. Pleasant Valley Branch, Weber County Library. Free admission.
12n-5pm: Collegiate Women’s Softball – BYU, Weber State, Utah State, University of Utah. See website for admission fees.
3:00pm: Apres Ski Party at Park City Resort – Bonanza Town is playing! Admission is free.
6:00pm: Movie Night Fundraiser – watch “The Princess Bride” and raise money for health care assistance. USU Taggert Center Ballroom, $3.00.
7:00pm: Stokes Nature Center Canyon Jam Series – presenting Hoodoo. Tickets are $8-20.
7:30pm: Geico EnduroCross Series – ESA, SLC. Tickets $20-22.
8:15pm: Blacklight Run 5K – Miller Motorsports Park, Toole. Wear white, you’re going to be splattered. Tickets $25-40.

10a-5p: LEGO Monuments Tour, Fashion Place Mall, SLC. Free admission.
10:30am: Muffins and Mimosas – THIS is my kind of 5K, where you end up at Gracie’s in downtown SLC for mimosas. Race fee: $32.
12:00pm: Pumas! The Story Of Mountain Lions and People – Swaner Eco Preserve, Park City. Free admission.
12:00pm: Collegiate Women’s Softball, Utah State and University of Utah. See website for ticket fees.
12:00pm: Extreme Mammals – Utah Museum of Natural History, SLC. Tickets are $0-13.
4:00pm: Presbyterian Choir Festival – sacred music concert at the historic chuch in SLC. Admission is free.
5:00pm: Apres Ski Music – music, food and cocktails at Snowbird Ski Resort. Tickets are $4-20 depending on venue.
